I havent seen this much snow in years. With this being my first big snowfall at my own house, I now have to worry about making sure that sidewalks are shoveled and salt is distributed. Ohh the joy of home ownership. It wouldnt be so bad if the snow wasnt so freaking heavy. There’s about 8 inches already on the ground now and they’re expecting about 6 more. I need a snowblower, thats for sure.

Jackass 2.5 to be Released Exclusively Online
jason law
I would be somewhat interested in watching another jackass movie, maybe though with less man junk and poop
Sequel to the two-time box office hit will skip multiplexes entirely and perhaps herald a new age of online movie distribution.

Holidays + Work = low productivity
jason law
I’m at that time of the year where I am totally in Holiday mode. When all you want to do is sit around and not do too much because your overwhelmed by the shear amount of things you have to do for the holidays. So this year I thought that it might be a good idea to create a list of all the things required to do during a working holiday month and still be able to get something done.- Go to Malls
- I only recommend that you do this if you really need to. Watch out for moms with strollers cause if you get hit in the shins, its likely your out for the count.
- Prioritize parties
- Only go to parties that you can feel the least uncomfortable at. Dont go to co-workers parties if you arent good friends with them, this will save unwanted discussions about work and family which can become uncomfortable.
- Pre-make holiday cards
- This is a must! This will save you at least a day or too of procrastinating, otherwise you will look ungrateful to all your friends and family and will receive less the next year.
- Call relatives
- Call relatives and keep it short. Its better to do this at family gatherings where you can pass the phone around, this way you can say “Hey, Mary wants to talk to you so it was good talking with you”.
This list is only a guideline, but recommended at best. So good luck with your holidays and ohh by the way, get some work done in there as well…if you need to.

All I can say is “why?”. Promising start and ended with the usual lions finish. Lost by 1pt in the last 20 seconds. Incredible!

The Police and Tasers
jason law
Tasers and your local police department seem to be the newest couple on the news scene lately. With many victims being tasered to death by police officers who believe that their less-than lethal is just that. How less than lethal can a taser be if it causes death? Maybe my quoting is wrong, maybe its less lethal or less likely to die if you were shot. Either way the use of tasers as a form of criminal control seems to be way out of hand. There must be some other form of restraint that can be used. Otherwise the fear of police is going to go out of control with the rampant use of these devices.
As of 5:13pm Technorati has 10,877 related posts to taser.

Organic Holiday Party 2007
jason law
That time of year again, where everyone gets dressed up (or not) and comes to celebrate the holidays with the people you work with. This year I was alittle hesitant about going, with how last years went and it not being as fun and actually I was kinda bored. This year believe it or not made up for it ten-fold. This year contractors were invited to come, which increased the crowed from a mere 100 last year to over 300 this year. Crowd aside, there were many more activities available for people to do, Martini ice luge, group photo booth, lounging couches, 2 DJ’s

2008 will be the year of?
jason law
What will 2008 be the year of? Innovation? War? Peace? Eco-Awareness? What ever it is I hope that it doesnt deal with the usual bickering that our country’s political leaders have been doing for the last 8 years. 2008 I believe will be the year that people my age will finally take part in our political process. Were much more informed now and we’ll actually have candidates to choose from that are actually different and that offer change. I think thats the biggest thing. 2008 year of change.

Bye Bye Pay Phones
jason law
AT&T announced today that by this time next year all of their pay phone setups will be gone. With the increased rise in cell phone usage over the last 10 years, phone companies are not cashing in like they used to. I cant remember the last time I used a pay phone, but I know it was atleast 8 years ago. Back when I didnt have a cell phone. Even then I made mostly collect calls to my parents or friends home phones (not cell phones).
Just wait, in 10 more years landlines will be a thing of the past as well. Even owning my own home I do not have a landline phone. There is no use for one that I can see. I can be easily reached via my cell phone 24/7 and know exactly what I am expected to pay. Also with text messaging which you can not do with a landline is a lifesaver and a definite necessity.
This may be an alternate solution to the pay phone, but I wouldnt expect to see it for atleast 5 more years.
